About Commission
Commissioned artwork has a long and important history, and it has traditionally been considered a serious form of fine art -- not simply a commercial service.
Why commissioned artwork has value?
Artistic value. The value comes from the artist's skill, style, experience, creative interpretation, and the quality of the finished work.
Personal value. Unlike buying an existing painting, the client participates in creating the subject. A portrait might represent a spouse, parent, child, pet, friendship, wedding, anniversary, or important period in someone's life.
