The Application Process

1. Complete the online questionnaire

[under construction, please email pojiaandart@gmail.com]

This form gives a first picture of the commission before we meet.  It helps me understand your subject, story, and preferences.

Some questions include:

  • Who or what you would like painted
  • The story and meaning behind the commission
  • Preferred artistic style
  • Preferred size
  • Due date and timeline
  • Colour, mood, and atmosphere...etc.

If you have them, upload photos or videos of the subject at this stage.

2. Book a meeting

Meet in person or by video so we can discuss your vision, style, pricing, timeline, contract, and payment.

A non-refundable meeting fee applies.  It is credited toward the final payment if you proceed.

3. Contract and deposit

Once you accept the proposal, you sign a contract and pay a  deposit before work begins.

4. Book a sitting for the subject (complimentary)

A sitting is very important and strongly recommended. It helps to capture likeness and presence.  Sketches and photographs are taken during the session, which lasts about 90-120 minutes. The subject will receive 1 complimentary live portrait sketch from the artist to take home on the day.

When the subject cannot attend, you will be asked to provide additional photo or video references.
